As we age, we produce less collagen, resulting in a loss of volume in our skin. Dermal fillers are often used to stimulate collagen or replace diminished tissue volume. There are several different fillers that can be used to inject wrinkles or reshape and contour the face. Most commonly used fillers are composed of hyaluronic acids, a natural substance that helps to hold water in your tissues – mainly in the skin, eyes, and connective tissue.

Most common areas of treatment are fine to deep wrinkles such as smile lines, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. They can also be used to re-volumize areas such as cheeks, under eyes, or lips. As well, fillers can be used to reshape or contour areas such as jawline or nasal bridge, and chin.

Over time, your body will metabolize the product and you will need to re-treat the area. Left untreated, you will return to where you were pre-treatment.

‍Neuromodulators are injected into muscles to reduce wrinkles caused by repetitive motion. They are most commonly used to treat the lines between the brows caused by frowning, the creases around the eyes caused by smiling or squinting, and the lines of the forehead.

Neuromodulators block the messaging from the nerve to the treated muscle, which then reduces the ability to contract the muscles. Although neuromodulators restrict certain muscles, you are still able to create expression. Depending on the neuromodulator used, muscle restriction can vary.

Skin Boosters are comprised of hyaluronic acid as well as amino acids that hydrate and moisturize causing a plumping effect on the skin. They are injected into the dermis, most commonly in the face, neck, decollate, and the back of the hands.
